Bound by Blood... Book 3 in the Paradox Series by Patti Roberts

BOUND by BLOOD, Patti Roberts' third installment of the Paradox series, is gripping. I totally enjoyed the shift/movement of the characters from one world into the other world. I got a sense of 'something's coming...' - that the two worlds are heading for an explosive collision.

The pieces are fitting together. Questions are being answered while new ones are forming in the reader's mind as the saga continues.

Patti's main characters are solid and believeable... can a reader ask for anything more? But of course they can, and I am confident that Patti will continue to answer those requests in the Paradox books yet to come!

A must read series... for sure:)

My dream is coming true in ten days! Book One of my 6-book Arazi Crossing series for YA fiction/fantasy readers launches at Cole Harbour Place from 9am-2pm on Saturday, Nov. 24th. RedemptionHouse Publishing has lined up a Nova Scotia book signing tour for me and I am thrilled to share the dates and locations with you:

So, what is Arazi Crossing Quinn's Evolution all about? It's a Young Adult fiction/fantasy book aimed at readers 10 yrs and up. The five main characters are teens from five different countries across the world; Scotland, China, United States, Bolivia and Kenya. Arazi Crossing is filled with magical gift boxes and bracelets, time travel back in history, mystical places and creatures, and, of course, the timeless battle between Good and Evil. The great thing about this series of six books is that there is appeal for boys and girl, guys and gals, and men and women. There are battles, mystery and yes... romance.

Book Review... "Soul Prints" by Norman Hines

Sometimes it pays to talk about books with new people you meet. Lucky for me, a niece of Truro author Norman Hines, proudly shared her excitement about her uncle's first book which had been recently published.

As an avid YA reader and soon-to-be published author, I wondered if I should step out of my comfort zone and read "Soul Prints". Well... I'm glad I got past wondering and read it:)

Norman has a fantastic ability to mesh real-life characters from days gone by with colourfully fictional characters. The story begins with the raw truth of war times and family struggles. It wasn't hard for me to feel, deeply, for the main characters (Nuri and Nathaniel) as the story unfolded. I was sure "Soul Prints" was going to be a story of how two teens survived, grew up and lived happily ever after.

I was soooooo wrong. And being wrong when reading a book is the best! Just when I settled in, ready to continue reading... bam! Norman introduced the true identity and meaning of what was really going on. Wow... well done. *****

I don't want to give away the details of this brilliant, moving story, but I will say that there are so many wonderful qualities to Norman's book that I believe it's a book everyone should read. It brings world history to light and true meaning; it gives believers of faith something to smile about; it warms the heart; AND the suspenseful last few chapters are gripping!

Thank you, Norman Hines, for sharing "Soul Prints" with the world. I understand that you are writing a second book. I'm impatiently waiting... and hoping it's the sequel:)

Norman Hines is a graduate of Acadia University and the Nova Scotia Teacher’s College and has worked as a high school counselor and director of school and community theatre. Norman is one of the founders of the NOSCO Academy of Theatre Arts and is the recipient of awards for his work with children and community service. He currently lives in Truro, Nova Scotia. iUniverse Website

Book Launch set for December 2012

I know, I know... it's been a looong time since my last post. Shame on me!
I've been working very hard on the final details for Arazi Crossing Quinn's Evolution. My publisher is awesome. I'm so glad that Nova Scotia finally has a publisher who is keen on fantasy books!

The plan for the launch of Book One of my series is to hold book buying/signing sessions across HRM where people can drop by, purchase a first edition and then have yours truly autograph it at the same time - sounds great to me:):)

As the launch draws near, I will post details on the where and when. For now... I must return to writing Book Two. Chapter 11 awaits!

Six-book outline consuming my time...

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I am trying to finish my 6-book outline for the Arazi Crossing series. Pulling all of my thoughts, notes and Word docs together into one big outline hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be, lol. The good news is that I've sharpened my storyline for the remaining 5 books and I'm really happy with the series now.

Hope everyone is having an awesome summer!
Cheers for now...
