As an avid YA reader and soon-to-be published author, I wondered if I should step out of my comfort zone and read "Soul Prints". Well... I'm glad I got past wondering and read it:)
Norman has a fantastic ability to mesh real-life characters from days gone by with colourfully fictional characters. The story begins with the raw truth of war times and family struggles. It wasn't hard for me to feel, deeply, for the main characters (Nuri and Nathaniel) as the story unfolded. I was sure "Soul Prints" was going to be a story of how two teens survived, grew up and lived happily ever after.
I was soooooo wrong. And being wrong when reading a book is the best! Just when I settled in, ready to continue reading... bam! Norman introduced the true identity and meaning of what was really going on. Wow... well done. *****
I don't want to give away the details of this brilliant, moving story, but I will say that there are so many wonderful qualities to Norman's book that I believe it's a book everyone should read. It brings world history to light and true meaning; it gives believers of faith something to smile about; it warms the heart; AND the suspenseful last few chapters are gripping!
Thank you, Norman Hines, for sharing "Soul Prints" with the world. I understand that you are writing a second book. I'm impatiently waiting... and hoping it's the sequel:)
